The existing facilities at that time were either too small and confining or too far away, thus alienating the younger generation from connecting and pursuing Hindu religious traditions. In December 1991, Raj Bhanot, Balwant Birla, Rajinder Sharma, and their friends made a board decision to create a Hindu Temple in the South Bay.

The current property, which spans 37,600 square feet on a 3.15-acre land, was officially registered as the Hindu Temple and Community Center on December 23, 1993.
